Phone calls will usually go to voicemail

Sign In and Out

Dropoff and pickup will be inside the front doors of Searles Science Building. on Upper Park Row.

Children 11 and older may sign themselves in and out of the program, with authorization from a parent.
Send that authorization by email, text or voicemail, or check directly with Rebecca.

Children under 11 require a parent or guardian, an older sibling or other authorized adult to sign them out of the program. A parent's permission is required to release a child into another adult's custody. A text, voicemail, or email will work during program hours. Please ask the adult to bring ID.

Snack & Lunch

If a child is ill, please do not send them to the program! Keeping staff and children well is our priority, so the program may continue all summer. Please err on the cautious side of this judgment.

Snacks & Lunch

Please send a water bottle and nutritious lunch  No soda or candy.

We will provide a morning and afternoon snack. If you child has special dietary needs, please send two snacks each day. Families will be notified about any allergies that require restrictions for each session.

Clothes

Sneakers or hiking sandals with rubber soles (not plastic), a closed toe, and an ankle strap are required for indoor and outdoor use. No flipflops, open-toed sandals, or slippery shoes. A phone call home for a change of shoes will be made, and a child will not be able to participate in games while wearing the wrong foot gear.

Sunscreen

Please send sunscreen labeled with your child's name. Please do not send sprays--they cause allergic reactions for staff and some children, and create slippery floors.

Cell Phones

Children may carry cell phones for occasional, responsible use at breaks. They may also be used during program time when we need to do research, such as looking up sea slugs or beholder art for inspiration.

Policies like this are subject to change during the summer, depending on how the group handles their phones. So make sure your child knows that cell phone use is not always an option.
