About The Rookery

Ravenscrawl Studio presents The Rookery!

The Rookery is a haven for young artists, writers, makers, and gamers who celebrate the mythic imagination. The program is open to teens and ‘tweens in grades 5 thru 10, allowing them to explore their interests in the company of other like-minded dreamers.

Each session is designed around a theme drawn from mythology.  The theme provides some structure to the week, with activities and discussions, but this structure will evolve with group interests.

Makers may craft the projects designed for the session, or work with materials in their own way, while gamers may host a tabletop game like D&D or Magic: The Gathering. Writers and GMs (Game Masters or Dungeon Masters) may discuss worldbuilding and fantasy/sci fi writing, while working on their own projects.

Rebecca McNulty, owner of RavenScrawl Studio and The Rookery, is uniquely qualified to lead explorations of art, gaming, and world-building for writers and gamers. She created the Dragon’s Eye Adventures, and wrote over 80 live-action adventure plays, including the 60+ mysteries she ran in Maine from 2012 to 2025. Her creative skills have been honed through her studies in myth, theater, and design at UConn, Wells College, and SMCC.

Over the years, Rebecca has treasured the discussions about mythology, world-building, gaming, and art that have arisen within the Dragon’s Eye programs. The Rookery is her new venture, designed to mentor the next generation of mythic imaginations.
